Movie Review of Ice Age 4: Continental Drift
Story: A continental cataclysm that triggers the greatest adventure for Manny, Diego, and Sid. With a short movie starring The Simpsons' baby Maggie.
Review: For the Simpsons' short movie, it was a new perspective of seeing the Simpsons' world through the perspective of baby Maggie Simpson. It was done like a silent film type but in color since the story is only focused on one Simpson. Even though there are no voices, the Simpson humor is still there.
It is also my first time to watch an Ice Age movie. The movie reunites Manny, Diego, Sid, and, of course, Scrat. Manny's(the mammoth) family is quite modern. He struggles as a father concerned with his daughter, Peaches who is now growing up.
There are also new characters that will be instrumental fory character developments. The humor is also slapstick as well as smart since comedians Ray Romano reprises their role as Manny and John Leguizamo as Sid. Rest assured, it is still a family-oriented film which both parents and their children can enjoy.
The adventure also took them in the clutches of the pirate crew led by Captain Gutt, which is voiced by Peter Dinklage, better known for his role as Tyrion Lannister in Game Of Thrones. Dinklage did well voicing as the villain of the story. Also part of Captain Gutt's crew is Shira, voiced by Jennifer Lopez. JLo was a good choice for Shira. She was feisty and seductive and a good match for the sabretooth Diego. Wanda Sykes adds more humor as Sid's Granny.
It is a good movie to watch for the whole family since this is the only family-oriented film I know. It is good to watch it in 3D.Ice Age: Continental Drift opens in Philippine cinemas July 14 and is released and distributed by Twentieth Century Fox.
