Captain America Civil War movie review

Guaranteed no spoilers

It was only last year that we got to see the Avengers together again in Avengers: Age Of Ultron plus with new members joining them. When the Marvel Phase 3 announced their line-up, I thought that Captain America: Civil War was too soon but they added more characters to make this happen.

As expected, this is different from the Civil War story arc that was published not long ago in regular formats and was compiled for collected editions. What makes this story interesting; it allows you to backtrack from the past movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In this latest Cap movie, it established itself that it’s not just a superhero movie but also with socio-political theme. Unlike a traditional superhero movie which is about battle between right and wrong, Civil War; just as the title suggests, is about difference in opinions. Two opinions here are expressed strongly by Captain America and Iron Man.

Because of this, alliances divided the Avengers and brought in new characters. But the big question is whose opinion weighs than the other? The audience can relate very much to the situation especially in U.S. and the Philippines. Both countries are having the election this year and they will also choose which side they should be.

Despite the seriousness of the theme, it is still a fun movie to watch. But the best scene is the anticipated super brawl of the year. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed. Captain America: Civil War opens April 27 in Philippine cinemas. Released and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.

I was told that there are two end-credit scenes but I only saw one because Walt Disney can't allow showing all at the premiere. So I will watch again when it opens. The movie premiere was held at SM Megamll Cinema 1 last April 25.
