Disney/Pixar's COCO movie review

Disney/Pixar made some quality animated family flick again with “Coco”. The story is set in Mexico during Dia De Muertos or Day of The Dead English. Miguel, a young boy, wanted to become a musician against his family’s wishes. Suddenly, he was in the world of the dead where and looks for his great grandfather and ask for his help or else, he will stay in the world of the dead and become one of dead himself.

What I like about Coco is that it even if the story has magical Disney touch, it still touches the heart with family values. I am always unprepared for Pixar’s tearjerking moments and I meant it in a good way. So you better not forget those handkerchiefs and tissues before watching.

Filipino viewers can relate to the movie because the culture is not different. Not only because Mexico is also a former colony of Spain but we also celebrate All Souls’ Day as a family holiday. The only difference was the Dia Del Muertos is a very colorful and festive type of All Soul’s Day. I also like the pre-colonial folklore included for this movie.

Disney/Pixar’s Coco is released and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. More geeky movie reviews by this blog and like https://www.facebook.com/LENSblogs/
