Flashback Review on Chronicles Of Narnia: Voyage of The Dawn Treader

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the third book of the Narnia Chronicles. If you haven't seen Prince Caspian, it's alright. The story has no relevance of the previous story but has minor details that relates to it. To understand what the Narnia Chronicles is all about, you must understand the original intent of the author, C.S. Lewis. Lewis created the story starting with The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe to make children understand the Gospels of the New Testament. C.S. Lewis himself is a theologian and also written many Christian literature that contributes to many theologians. The Narnia Chronicles is no exemption because it parallels the Gospels. Allow me to explain. You may notice that Aslan has messianic experiences because he parallels Jesus Christ in the Gospels. Here's another connection. Jesus Christ himself was given the title as the Lion of Judah. He also parallels Jesus as the source of wisdom. Get the connection? One of the conflicts that occurs in a Narnia story is temptation which was personified by Jadis, the white witch. The reason why Jadis appeared too beautiful to be a temptress is because she mirrors Lucifer, the fallen angel. It is not accurate that Lucifer Morningstar appears red, with horns, tail and a trident because Lucifer himself is a beautiful angel. No one falls into temptation to a hideous creature unless it appears handsome. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is a much more bigger story because it has character developments that is necessary for the next book, The Silver Chair. This is also the first Narnia movie in 3D and it's worth seeing. It opens in 3D cinemas on Dec. 3 while on regular 2D cinemas on Dec. 9. Chronicles of Narnia:Voyage of The Dawn Treader is brought to you by 20th Century Fox.
