X-Men: Apocalypse movie review part 1

After the events of Days Of Future Past, The X-Men First Class timeline is now introduced to one of X-Men's powerful villains the first mutant Apocalypse. It got the fans excited after the X-Men:DOFP revealed a story line for the next movie.

When the first trailer showed the real form of Apocalypse as the villain really look like it is not what I anticipated since he look like a former nemesis of the Power Rangers. But thanks to the special effects, it made me see how powerful this mutant villain is. Oscar Isaac did well on playing the iconic mutant villain. For the movie, he appeared more like an Egyptian deity than a being with cybernetic suit in his comic book likeness. To make him look like he came from an Egyptian past, this is better.

James McAvoy didn't just prove he is a good younger version of Professor X which Patrick Stewart started. If you saw the how Days Of Future Past ended, then you know how the present timeline affected their past. But one think I didn't like about this movie was they spoiled too much in one of their trailers that showed McAvoy now bald. You will find out in the movie what caused it.

For Mystique, Jennifer Lawrence made it a point that she can also be a heroine. We know that Mystique started out as a villain but we never saw her potential development. Since First Class, we saw her potential heroic self that exist in one time in the comics. In this era, she seemed like an adjusted to the 80's in her rock chic outfit similar to Chrissie Hynde. Unlike her predecessor, she spends more time as her human likeness that Mystique morphs into than her real blue form. It may appear that the movie is cutting production cost in special effects for Mystique.

This review is not sugar-coated since I didn't watch at the advance screening. I spent two hundred sixty pesos because my colleague wanted to watch it.
