GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 movie review
When Guardians of The Galaxy was officially included in the
Marvel Cinematic Universe, I first thought that they were taking huge risk for
doing a not-so-popular title. But I remember Thor was not my favorite either
but look how the character developed.
Then I realized that the Guardians are needed because Marvel
needs a team that can operate in outer space. Even Tony Stark said in an
animated series that they are the Avengers in outer space. But what makes this
superhero team unique was they are entirely misfits to begin with which is
really fun.
This movie continues the adventures of the Guardians
primarily because they are guns for hire but not mercenaries. They seem to
choose their mission assuming so that they won’t have trouble with the Nova
Corps. This is my speculation only.
But what got me excited with this was the introduction of
the Celestial Ego as seen in the trailer. The Celestials are one of the
galactic entities that you will encounter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The
first one introduced was The Collector.
It only shows that the Guardians story is essentials in the
expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the realm of the outer space. Who
knows what galactic entity will be introduced next as The Infinity War draws
closer.
For the Guardians, the team is just as funny and bad-ass, I can’t
wait to see the first contact of the Guardians with the heroes of Earth. But the most bad-ass of them all was Yondu. I
never knew what else he could do with his arrow that he whistles around. But it also adds more empowered women among the ranks of Gamora and Nebula as the empath Mantis makes her debut.
For the cameo appearances and postlude end credit scenes,
expect a lot. There are more than one cameo appearances and five end credit
scenes. So don’t leave yet during the
end-credits because it is always anticipated by the fans.
For my movie experience, it has some good 3D effects but I
have heard some feedback that it was not good in Greenbelt 3 that it was dark
and the 3D glasses I got was foggy as if it was not sanitized. You can try
other cinemas since there are other Ayala cinemas nearby.
Just like the last movie, Peter Quill’s awesome mix is a
good musical score for the whole movie. The songs provided a backdraft throughout
the movie. For the readers of this review, just answer me this, are you going
to stay during end-credits or leave? If you are not going to stay for
end-credits, are you aware there's an extra scenes in the end credits? I just can’t get enough of Baby Groot.
