American Ultra movie review

As we anticipate Jesse Eisenberg's performance as Superman's arch-enemy, let's review his latest movie, American Ultra. The movie is about a delinquent/junkie named Mike Howell (played by Eisenberg who works is a convenience store and lives with his fellow junkie/girl friend Phoebe (played by Kristen Stewart).

It's suddenly change when Howell saw a couple of guys rigging off his car. When he shouted at them, they suddenly reveal that they were armed and Howell single-handed fought back with only a spoon and a cup of instant hot soup. Only then he found out that he is some sleeper agent waiting to be triggered. He is programmed to to kill.

Sleeper agents originated during the Cold War. Their existence was either proven or disproven.

What makes it interesting is that it has some similarities with Chuck series and the original Bourne movies. What make it so different was that the action sequences can be compared to the types of Kick Ass movies. It is so graphic but fun.

The tandem of Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart is like a dream team of this specified movie genre. They are both suited for the roles. The movie also stars Topher Grace and Bill Pullman.

It is so graphic that it got me surprise that Disney is distributing it here. I later found out that they are just a distributor and it was Buena Vista who produced it. I can agree that it can't be opened in all cinemas probably because of the graphic content. That is why it is only exclusive to Ayala Cinemas. That is why Ayala Cinemas only has the specific audiences to suit these kind of movies.
