FAMILY ADVENTURE “PAN” GROSSES P49.64-M IN 4 DAYS

 MANILA, Oct. 12, 2015 – Warner Bros. Pictures’ family-oriented action fantasy “Pan (read my review here)” starring Hugh Jackman raided the Philippine box-office with a robust P49.64-M gross in four days since its Oct. 8 opening.  This was announced today by Francis Soliven, General Manager of Warner Bros. (F.E.), Inc.

            Claiming the biggest share of the gross receipts are SM Mall of Asia (P2.17-M), SM Megamall (P1.92-M) and Trinoma (P1.66-M).

            They’re followed by the following cinemas in the Top Ten: SM North EDSA (P1.48-M), SM Southmall (P1.38-M), Glorietta 4 (P1.21-M), Greenhills Theatremall SM Cebu (P1.17-M), (P1.06-M), Bonifacio High Street (P1.00-M) and Alabang Town Center (P 874,946.)

From director Joe Wright comes “Pan,” a live-action feature presenting a wholly original adventure about the beginnings of the beloved characters created by J.M. Barrie.  The film stars Oscar nominee Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard; Garrett Hedlund as James Hook; Oscar nominee Rooney Mara (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”) as Tiger Lily; Amanda Seyfried as Mary and newcomer Levi Miller who as Peter, has received universal acclaim for his performance.

            In the film, Peter is a mischievous 12-year-old boy with an irrepressible rebellious streak, but in the bleak London orphanage where he has lived his whole life those qualities do not exactly fly.  Then one incredible night, Peter is whisked away from the orphanage and spirited off to a world of pirates, warriors and fairies called Neverland.
