Sausage Party(R-18) movie review

I first saw the trailer of Sausage Party at a feature of HBO. I thought that it will never be seen here in the Philippines because of the adult theme. However, this is not the first animated movie with adult content.

The R-18 animated movie made food comparisons to intercourse and giving it a double meaning in a fun way. Just like the toys of Toy Story movies, Sausage Party gave a secret existence to food. But if Seth Rogen and his comedy ensemble take part of the story, you can be assured that it is not for kids.

Comedians are good thinkers and writers and this movie is a good example of it. They applied the thoughts if sausages and buns were alive, what do they want to talk about? Although this is an R-18 movie that uses animation in adult content, it is not the first that an R-18 was given to an animated work.

Series like Beavis and Butthead, South Park, Spawn the animated series and especially Aeon Flux are considered adult oriented animation. The anime from Japan also have a genre on adult content like Ghost in the Shell and Ninja Scroll.

But the purpose of this is for adult fun and it is not really for kids. But you will never see grocery food the same way again after watching. Sausage Party opens September 24 in Philippine cinemas. For more geeky movie reviews, follow this blog and like L.E.N.S. blogs
