Based on a book by Max Brooks. The story evolves on former UN employee Gerry Lane when an outbreak occur. A virus that made any human who got bitten by a zombie becomes one in a matter of seconds. Gerry Lane leads a quest in finding where the virus originated and to find a way to contain the outbreak.

Although it is a book adaptation, it is not expected to be an exact adaptation of it like most book adaptations. I haven't read the book yet but I was told by a friend who already read it that it was really different from the book.
What makes it distinct from the book was that it was action packed. Also, the zombies here are quite unique in zombie genre. Watching this reminds me of the game Half Life. World War Z is released and distributed by United International Pictures through Solar Entertainment Corporation.

If you've read the book then saw this film, you'll find out why Max Brooks distanced himself from this movie since its nothing like his book. The book had more action than this film. I was at least expecting one of the main battles featured in the book but Pitt himself conceded that it could not be a part of the film. Sad, since the "Battle of Yonkers" was turning point in the story. Oh, well. Better luck next time, Brad. Hopefully the sequel pans out.
