Review: There are many interpretations about how will the world end. Each religion has its versions of it. It was only less than a year ago when the controversial 2012 prediction affected the whole human society.

In this movie, it gives its own version of the end times. Although it has basis on the Christian Bible, it was not accurate but it is only an impression of the movie. What makes it worthwhile is the story was co-written by Seth Rogen himself.

If the story is written by a comedian, it will surely be a good comedy. But like any comedy work, expect that there is adult humor in it. What impresses me about this movie is that even though the movie is fictional, the characters are the actors themselves. There are mostly cameo appearances from other actors as well.

This movie was shown in U.S. last June so it took three months to show it here. Unlike the American audience, Philippine audience are more conservative when it comes to movies. It is definitely Rated R and not all cinemas can show this. I remember when Da Vinci Code was not shown in some cinemas here because of its Gnostic theme.

Over-all, the movie is good to watch and I find it not religiously offensive and it has good laughs. This Is The End is distributed by Columbia Pictures and is exclusively shown at Ayala Cinemas. For more quality movie reviews, follow Mark_Templar on Twitter.
