Transformers: Age Of Extinction movie review

Story: Years after the fall of Chicago, the U.S. government is now on a Transformers witch hunt, whether Autobots or Decepticons. The remaining Autobots went into hiding from the world they protected on many occasions to evade the humans until struggling inventor Cade Yeager discovered and revived a semi-truck which happens to be Optimus Prime.

Review: Just like the recent Transformers movies, this one still has the same special effects that highlights the movie. I admit it was the best since the movie franchise made it possible for the Transformers come to life. The only weakness of the franchise was the story. I didn't see it as different to the previous sequels.

For the new actors and characters, Cade Yeager(played by Mark Wahlberg), is an ideal character to help the Autobots. He is an inventor and already have a knowledge about Transformers since Rachet lost his spark.

Stanley Tucci, who plays industrialist Joshua Joyce, somehow provided comic relief in some parts of the movie. As for Kelsey Grammer, who plays Harold Attinger, the only human antagonist in the movie. Grammer performed well as the bad guy in the movie. It is also a good twist on the part of the movie that the Decepticons are not the only threat in the movie.

It is also good to see Li Bingbing since she is a kick-ass actress. She already played many franchised roles like Ada Wong in the latest Resident Evil movie, Blink in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Nicola Peltz plays Tessa Yeager, the daughter of Cade. Her role was crucial as one of the struggles for the Cade as the human protagonist.

For the voice actors, Peter Cullen still voices Optimus but another another original Transformers animation voice actor, Frank Welker, adds another Transformers character to his list. He now plays Galvatron in this sequel. I can't believe he can still play the part since he was Megatron in the original animation. After 3 Transformers movies, another Autobot from the original series pilot made its debut. Instead of the military jeep mode, Hound is a Osh Kosh truck.

Another Transformers making his debut is Drift. My only concern was that he looks really like a samurai warrior from medieval Japan which I think was too exaggerated but he was still cool just like in the Transformers comics. What I didn't realize that he was a triple changer where his helicopter mode was not used in the toy line. His other mode is a Bugatti.

I am not that impressed with the Dinobots background story but it was good to see them in live-action. I only saw the regular 2D version but it is also good to watch even if it's not in 3D or IMAX. In conclusion, the whole movie is just a way to make new toy line for the Transformers franchise since there is no ongoing animated series after Transformers Prime ended.
