Poltergeist 3D movie review

I first saw the original Poltergeist movie as a kid. I watched it alone and even though I knew that it is only a movie, it still creeps me out because my imagination can run wild. The year was 1982.

Fast forward 2015.  What makes Poltergeist appealing for this newer audience because most of us who seen it are still alive to tell about the movie. What is a poltergeist? It is German which means noisy spirits. Most of the claimed ghostly encounters are because of poltergeist. According to folklore, a poltergeist activity does more harm than any spiritual encounter. There also claims of poltergeist cases are documented from different parts of the globe.

The difference of this movie compared to the 1982 version is the cinematography. Now, the color is more fluid than the original. The original uses puppetry and old school SFX.  With today's digital technology, lots of stuff can done with the computer.

If you must ask, why should anyone who've seen the original should see this latest version? Because it still compliments the original and they made minor changes but didn't go far from the original. Not only that, the best viewing experience is the movies now that it can be seen on 3D.

Unlike the original, there are some comedy moments in the dialogues between characters. Poltergeist 3D is shown in the Philippines starting June 24 and is released by Twentieth Century Fox.
