Former Admiral Zephyr, also known as “Z”, together with his two commanding officers, Ain and Binz, sails to sea for one mission, and that is to kill all the pirates, thus, destroying their dreams of becoming “King of Pirates.” Their group, called the Neo Marines, invades the island, which belonged to the Marines, and steals all the Dyna Stones. Admiral Kizaru interrupts and fights Z leaving the latter wounded. Z, knowing he has no chance of winning the battle against Kizaru, uses one of the Dyna Stones, causing a huge explosion and turning the whole island into ashes. Fortunately, Kizaru was unharmed. The Straw Hat Pirates, led by Luffy, were in the middle of their celebration when they saw Z floating in the sea. They rescued him and healed his wounds to which Z was grateful for. However, at the knowledge that everyone on the ship are pirates, and that Luffy wants to become King of Pirates, he starts attacking them.
