Mr. Peabody and Sherman movie review

Story: Mr. Peabody is not your average talking dog. He's a genius and a stepfather to a human boy Sherman.

Review: Mr. Peabody and Sherman belonged to the same animation studios that brought you Rocky and Bulwinkle. Not too long ago, Rocky and Bulwinkle had a live-action/animation following the footsteps of Looney Tunes' Space Jam and 'Who Killed Roger Rabbit?'

Unlike Rocky and Bulwinkle, the story is more family oriented even if its humorous. There are lessons that can be drawn here. It doesn't take to be an intelligent dog to understand the values this movie has. What I like about the movie is the geek references. Mr. Peabody uses the WABOC(sounds like way back), a time machine he invented to teach Sherman about significant events in history. It also has reference to worm holes and slip stream maneuver.

The voice cast are all ideal for their respective characters. Some are even recognizable. Leslie Mann is not new to voice acting. What makes her distinct is that she usually lands on mother roles. It is not possible for this movie to have a sequel but it needs a good story.

It is also presented in 3D format. The movie is for General Patronage in Philippine cinemas. Mr. Peabody and Sherman is presented by Twentieth Century Fox. For more movie reviews, interviews and updates; visit and follow L.E.N.S. blogs on Facebook.
